Children's Food Allergies - School Survival Guide

I remember vividly when my son was diagnosed with children's food allergies at the age of four. Through a series of tests, it was determined that he is allergic to milk, wheat, peanuts, tree nuts, soy, shellfish and eggs...basically, all eight of the foods that cause 90% of food allergic reactions in people.
I left the doctor's office feeling quite overwhelmed and wondering what I was possibly going to feed my child. It has been three years since that day; and life has been different for him and for me. My son cannot eat the school meals; so, I pack a lunch for him each day. And, at the same time, take precautions to make sure that my son does not ingest any offending foods while at school.
